About

Aja Macheel was raised in the immersive outdoor mountain town of Park City, Utah. Creativity was taught to her as a way of authentic and spiritual communication. Aja's process of creation and self discovery through the brush has become a lifelong refuge. She has worked for many years as a self-taught artist in Utah, Oregon, and Hawaii. Each painting is a glimpse into her personal awe of the natural world.

The Philosophy

Aja's work is based on the belief that one is simply a conduit for the flow of natural information through the brush. There is a relationship with where the painting 'wants to go' and there is a surrender required to allow the painting to evolve. This is a practice of mindfulness and trust.

The Paintings

Aja's paintings are mixed media on canvas, using acrylic paint, fluid acrylic and oil pastel. Smaller canvases are framed. Each piece is an original with zero reporductions.
